10-year-old Vogue Model Graced Cover of Magazine’s ‘Enfants’

A 10-year-old Vogue model who has been compared to Brigitte Bardot posed for risqué photos for the Paris magazine. Thylane Loubry Blondeau is not even considered a tween yet, but she has been photographed in sexually suggestive poses. However, she has been modeling for years. In fact, she already graced the cover of Vogue Enfants. Obviously she is no stranger to modeling.

In one setting, the 10-year-old Vogue model sprawled out on a tiger rug applying lipstick (isn’t 10 too young to even wear makeup?) and staring off in a sexually suggestive manner. The unusual and sexual photos have raised eyebrows and caused some to call for somebody to be punished over this.

The CEO of Concerned Women for America, Penny Nance said, “This is clearly child exploitation and her parents should be legally charged.” This seems to be a strong statement, but really, they are responsible for her well-being. Of course, shouldn’t Paris Vogue also have some culpability in this situation as well? They are the ones who took the shots and printed them.

This story is interesting because of the fact that the U.K. just began to try to enforce restrictions on the sexualization of children, which does seem to make it more likely that both her parents and the magazine may face some type of legal backlash. Reg Bailey as the Chief Executive of the Mothers’ Union is the one who is in charge of leading the task force to help reduce the pressure on children.

A spokesperson for the Mothers’ Union said:

We have grave concerns about the modelling agency who represent Blondeau, which clearly does not know if it represents a child or an adult. Photo shoots requiring her, a 10-year-old-girl, to dress in full make-up, teetering heels and a dress with a cleavage cut to the waist across her pre-pubescent body deny Blondeau the right to be the child she is. These images would, we hope, post Bailey Review, not pass through the standards of magazines, on street advertising and other media within the UK.

It seems that these pictures may very well not end up being able to be distributed in the U.K. It remains to be seen what happens in the U.S. and other countries throughout the world.

While there were several younger models alongside the 10-year-old Vogue model, the others were not nearly as provocative as Thylane Loubry Blondeau. Can you believe that anybody would think that it is okay to allow their 10-year-old daughter to take sexually suggestive pictures? It is mind-boggling. Do you think her parents should face a legal punishment?
