The 2011 NBA Playoffs second round has gotten off to an unpredictable start! Both the Chicago Bulls and the L.A. Lakers have given up their home court advantages! The Lakers blew a big half time lead to Dallas in Game 1, losing 96-94.
Dallas Mavericks power forward Dirk Nowitzki scored 11 points in the fourth quarter Monday night, giving the Mavericks their first-ever playoff win in Los Angeles. Is this finally the year that the Mavs step up and take the Western Conference title?
They definitely have the talent, but can they follow through? Dallas has a long history of having great regular seasons and not so great playoff runs. The Lakers on the other hand, need a wake up call….and quick!
It’s not Oklahoma City or New Orleans on the other side of the locker room, it’s the Mavericks. The Lakers seem to have fallen into a pattern of losing Game 1 in a best of seven series. It hasn’t hurt them so far, but this time it might.
You can check back here for live updates and commentary for the first half of action in a must win for the L.A. Lakers in the 2011 NBA Playoffs. Tip off is scheduled for 10:30 PM EST. Can the Dallas Mavericks steal two games in LA.?
