The 2011 NCAA Tournament is down to the Final Four and has it ever been a wild ride for college basketball fans!
The Final Four kicks off this Saturday, April 2 at 6:09 PM ETÂ in Houston, Texas. (Yes, 6:09PM, not 6:00PM. Thanks to the executives for the odd tip off times.) The first game is between the #11 seeded Virginia Commonwealth Rams taking on the #8 seeded Butler Bulldogs.
Yeah, that’s not a misprint. VCU versus Butler. Just the way you had it in your bracket right? It’s pretty safe to say that no one saw this March Madness match up coming when the 2011 NCAA Tournament began!
It’s actually shame that these two teams have to face each other first. It will be interesting to see these two Cinderella teams play each other and which one will win.
The second game will tip off 8:49 PM ET and feature the Kentucky Wildcats taking on the University of Connecticut.
These two teams are no strangers to Final Four play. Kentucky is making their 14th overall appearance in the Final Four. UConn has been a regular in the final four over the last decade, most recently in 2004 and 2009.
This will be a hard fought battle. The bottom line is that for UCONN to win they need Kemba Walker to play as great as he has been all Tournament long.
For Kentucky, their shining star Brandon Knight will need to keep up his remarkable tournament play in March Madness.
Yes both teams need everyone to play well to win the 2011 NCAA Tournament, but make no mistake, these two players will play a big key for both teams, win or lose.
