The 2012 NFL season is entering week 3 and some major surprises have already created a buzz among football fans. The NFC West was the laughingstock of the league just two seasons ago, but now is it the toughest?
Bleacher Report writer Matthew Melton has made some good arguments to support the claim and it starts with San Francisco as the top team in the league. After wins over two playoff teams last year, the 49ers are looking to improve on their NFC Championship Game appearance from last season.
The NFC West also has the most combined wins with six, including Arizona’s big upset over New England last weekend. The Cardinals are not the prettiest team in the league, but at 2-0 they are tied with the best record.
This week will give a better understanding of how good this division can be as Seattle hosts Green Bay, St Louis travels to Chicago, and the 49ers take their 2-0 mark on the road to face Minnesota. But the biggest game is the Cardinals as they play host to the Philadelphia Eagles who are also 2-0 entering week 3 of the 2012 NFL season.
