The Dallas Cowboys are not playing to the level needed to make a run at the NFL Playoffs this season and for several reasons this team needs to make some big changes this off-season if they want to start competing in the NFC.

This off-season will have a major impact on where this team heads into the future and the latest mock drafts from football experts have this team looking in very different directions.

Mel Kiper of ESPN has Dallas taking offensive lineman Dallas Thomas of Tennessee with their top pick. The Cowboys clearly need help on the line and while it’s not a bad pick, this team needs to start thinking about the future and that could have them looking at a different option next spring.

Bleacher Report writer and NFL Draft expert Matt Miller suggests the team looks at adding USC quarterback Matt Barkley. With Tony Romo now in his 30s, this team needs to find a future franchise quarterback and Barkley is an excellent fit.

While both these players are first round material, it will be an interesting winter and spring for the Cowboys as they look to finally play to the level fans and experts have predicted for the last couple of seasons.
