’50 Shades of Grey’ Movie: Alexander Skarsgard’s Embrace of Nudity Improves Christian Grey Chances?

The 50 Shades of Grey movie chatter is utterly fascinating–and a bit scandalous, as it should be. There’s currently a hot-to-trot list of actors hovering at the starting line in hopes of scoring the lucrative role of rich business tycoon, Christian Grey, in the adaptation of E.L. James’ erotic book. (The search for the PYT to play his Anastasia Steele counterpart is still raging, too.) A few frontrunners have emerged–in the gossip columns, at least–including Ryan Gosling, Ian Somerhalder, Matt Bomer, Alexander Skarsgard and Henry Cavill. Which hunky specimen will win the race and snatch up the part is still yet to be seen, but Skarsgard may have just scored himself a big boost.

He has the True Blood cred and the seductive Swedish roots. And while, at 36, he’s a bit more mature than some of the other 50 Shades contenders, Skarsgard is certainly not past his prime. He recently flexed his ripped muscles for GQ Australia. And if his brooding, slightly mysterious and completely sultry photo spread wasn’t enough proof he could pull off Grey, then perhaps his revelation that he’s completely comfortable taking it all off is the ticket to landing the part.

File:Alexander Skarsgard by Gage Skidmore 2.jpg“Nudity is great,” Alexander Skarsgard revealed to the magazine, as Daily Mail reports. “If it makes sense in the script, I really don’t care.” Whoever lands the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele will certainly have to be uninhibited, so his willingness to strip down without hesitation could be a good sign.

Skarsgard’s other lucky coincidence in the 50 Shades of Grey casting competition came with his recent campaign for the Calvin Klein Encounter fragrance. The sexy, intense and shadowy commercial, which featured a hot hunter-like characterization of Skarsgard in search of the gorgeous girl, looked like it could have been ripped straight from the risqué pages of Grey.
