The 50 Shades of Grey movie has inspired a lot of polls asking fans who they think should play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, and the results of two of them proved to be rather surprising.

One of the favorites for the role of Ana seems to be Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel, who most recently starred in a few steamy scenes on Mad Men. However, more Fifty fans might be realizing that the 30-year-old actress is just a bit too old to play a 21-year-old college student. According to Books & Review, Alexandra Daddario has emerged as the new favorite in a recent poll. Alexis is in second place.

Alexandra has dark hair and mesmerizing big blue eyes just like Alexis Bledel, but she’s four years younger and isn’t quite as well-known. This could be a good thing since some Gilmore Girls fans might have a problem with picturing Alexis as Rory Gilmore if she gets cast as Anastasia Steele.

Alexandra Daddario is probably best known for starring in the movie Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The second movie in that Harry Potter-esque franchise is set to hit theaters next year, but Alexandra has proved that she doesn’t just want to do family friendly flicks by getting cast in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. She has also starred on a few TV series like Parenthood and White Collar, which features Christian Grey favorite Matt Bomer.

Speaking of Christian Grey, in a recent poll, Ian Somerhalder is a clear favorite for the role – he’s beating Matt Bomer by about 400 votes. But who knows? Maybe Alexandra and Matt could work together again in the 50 Shades of Grey movie.

In a second Christian Grey poll, there’s a surprising star beating Ian Somerhalder – DietTribe trainer Jessie Pavelka. He doesn’t have much acting experience, but he did lose his shirt to play a calendar guy in the Lifetime movie 12 Men of Christmas. It’s pretty impressive that he’s beating Ian with just one movie role and a reality show.

So could Jessie Pavelka surprise everyone and win the role? And will Alexandra beat out E. L. James’ rumored choice Shailene Woodley to play Ana? What do you think?
