50 Shades of Grey movie favorite Ian Somerhalder has sparked more rumors that he’s being considered for the role of Christian Grey.
Early this month Ian got Fifty fans buzzing by tweeting that he was giving away his signed copy of 50 Shades along with a special message written inside. Some fans thought that the note would say that he’s been cast as Mr. Grey (so far there’s no word on what it really said).
Obviously Ian had a copy of 50 Shades because he was researching the conflicted character that is Christian—The Vampire Diaries star has made it very clear that he’s competing for the coveted role of the brooding billionaire in the movie based on the book. And now a new tweet might indicate that he’s gotten his hands on another juicy bit of reading material—the 50 Shades of Grey movie script.
Celeb Dirty Laundry reported the news that the screenplay is complete and in Ian’s hands because of this tweet:
“On set preparing scene for TVD,Reading movie script and California dreaming on such a winter’s day…Thankful for multi-tasking brain.”
The webloid speculates that the screenplay in Ian Somerhalder’s possession was Kelly Marcel’s finished work.
However, Ian could have been reading any script—The Vampire Diaries has made him a very big star, so he probably gets scripts sent to him all the time. He knows that the role of Christian Grey could go to another fan favorite like Matt Bomer or Henry Cavill, so he might also be looking for a backup movie to do in case he doesn’t score the part. Right now Ian doesn’t have any films in his future, so he could even sign on for multiple movies if he wants to.
It’s possible that Kelly Marcel has already finished a rough draft of the 50 Shades screenplay and sent a copy Ian’s way since she did say that she’s been working on it, but fans won’t know for sure if this is what Ian was reading unless he or Kelly decides to divulge that information.
Even if it wasn’t the 50 Shades script, fans can still hope that Ian is looking for a movie role that calls for him to show off his buff bod.
