’50 Shades of Grey’ Movie: Kristen Stewart Favored for Anastasia Steele, According to Poll

The 50 Shades of Grey movie has inspired lots of websites to create polls to get a better idea of which actresses fans most want to play Anastasia Steele, and one recent poll ended up with a rather surprising winner—Kristen Stewart.

Author E.L. James has already said that she doesn’t want the actress in the movie, and she wouldn’t seem like a popular choice among Fifty fans, either. 50 Shades started out as Twilight fanfiction featuring alternate versions of Bella and Edward, so obviously lots of Twihards became fans of James’ steamy story. Some of these same Twihards were extremely upset when K-Stew cheated on Robert Pattinson with Rupert Sanders, so it’s hard to imagine them wanting to see her in a movie ever again, especially one with a Twilight connection—they’re already going to have to suffer through Breaking Dawn Part 2 after investing so much in the Twilight franchise.

However, according to YourTango, Kristen Stewart is a fan favorite to play Anastasia Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey movie with 30 percent of the vote in the site’s poll. She’s followed by Emma Watson and Elizabeth Olsen, who are both at 20 percent. However, both of these actresses recently denied rumors that they’re pursuing playing Ana in the movie. Leighton Meester also got 20 percent, and she might be the best option out of these actresses—she hasn’t said no to the role yet, and she has a softer, sweeter look than Kristen. Most Fifty fans seem to want Ana to look a little more innocent, and obviously it will be hard for anyone to see Kristen as innocent after what she did to Robert Pattinson.

But perhaps YourTango‘s poll is proof that fans are already forgiving Kristen—there have been quite a few vocal Twihards who have shown their support by encouraging the actress to stay strong in YouTube videos.

So what do you think—does Kristen deserve a shot at the 50 Shades movie?
