This morning I took my three-year-old and the baby for a walk. We were heading for a nearby playground, and on the way we decided to look for signs of Christmas. Today was warmer than usual, and at 86 degrees it surely felt like we were in the middle of a heat wave.
Sky loved all the Christmas decorations, and even though it is difficult to find the Christmas spirit, when it is this warm, it did help me a bit as well.
We found holiday spirit in the strangest places.
Below was our favorite decorations, a gorgeous palm tree with beautiful ornaments.
My dad is a Christmas tree farmer, so seeing a huge tent filled with Christmas trees in the middle of a parking lot is just not the same as getting a fresh cut one from the farm. I don’t know how they manage to keep the Christmas trees alive in this heat, and we definitely won’t get ours until a week or so before Christmas.
Do you see the red and green hiding in the tree? I almost stepped on this guy, who turned out to be longer than my three-year-old. He ran very very fast, so I did not get a good shot of him.
When we got home we took out the kiddie pool, and after having been dry all day it began raining less than ten minutes after we got inside. My oldest son decided he needed an afternoon nap, and somehow my toddler (who walked three miles in 86 degrees today) still have a whole lot of energy left.
Did you put up your Christmas decorations yet?
Do you decorate outside?
