A Memory, You Had To Be There, SunWE, May 25, Gather Writing Essentials

My husband retired before me

And looking for something to do

He decided to make  an educational film

Got himself all dressed up too

He had on his military shirt

With all his WW2 Medals pinned on the pocket

Was explaining to an invisible audience

About a gun, how to cock it and lock it.

He was serious as all get out

And I thought it was an admiral try

He took the gun apart and reassembled it

He was an expert and not at all shy

Then when the demonstration was over

All done in a serious tone

He stood up and reached for something

I almost broke my funny bone

Dressed at the top he was magnificent

In his pressed military shirt and cap

Below that were his striped pajamas

When he saw that he said , Oh Crap
