Adam Lambert received the award for “Favorite International Artist” at the 2013 Chinese Music Awards in Macao today. This is a noteworthy accomplishment, as he beat out Ke$ha, Asian artist Psy, and international mega superstar Taylor Swift for this honor. Adam tweeted his excitement: “So honored to have received the Chinese Music Award for Fav International Artist tonight!! Thank u Channel V! I had so much fun performing!”
Photos from the event have been posted on the Venetian Macao Facebook page. In addition to accepting his award, Adam also performed Trespassing and Naked Love from his sophomore album. Watch Adam’s red carpet arrival, his award acceptance, and performance in the video below:
Adam’s win is not surprising, as he has had a large presence in China over the past year. In September he performed on The Voice of China, which was seen by 400 million viewers. Likewise, while there he appeared as a guest on the popular talk show “80’s Talkshow.” Not only has he had television exposure in China, but earlier this year he also performed in Shanghai as part of his We Are Glamily tour.
Although Adam wrapped up his international mini tour last month, he is doing a one-off concert in Del Mar, California on July 2 for his domestic fans. After that, fans will probably have to wait for his third album for more concerts. He has not spilled any details about his next album, so it is still a big mystery.
