Designer Karl Lagerfeld really put his foot in his mouth when ahead of the 2012 Grammys he declared Adele “too fat.” The singer responded to his ridiculous remarks even though he did offer an apology explaining how he understood what it felt like for the press to be mean over weight.

Adele Fat Quote: Grammy Winning Singer Responds to Karl LagerfeldEarlier this week the Grammy Award winning singer said, “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that.” She should be proud of her body and her talent. There is no doubt that Karl Lagerfeld offended the majority of women when he said, “The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”

Not every woman is a skin and bones runway model, and they shouldn’t be. Lagerfeld’s apology came off as a bit insincere considering he has spoken about “curvy” and “fat” women in the past remarking that “nobody wants to see” them.

The good news is that Adele does not need Karl Lagerfeld’s approval. The singer will perform at the 2012 Grammys, which will be her first performance since her career saving vocal cord surgery last year.
