Adele Tour Dates Postponed: Laryngitis Cited as Cause

In a literal case of the blues, British pop singer Adele is postponing a string of tour dates while she recovers from laryngitis. The throat condition has caused the singer to lose her voice, thus making performing impossible at this juncture on the Adele tour.

Five shows on the North American leg of the sold-out Adele tour have been postponed after the singer was diagnosed and put on immediate vocal rest before a Minneapolis show, according to CNN. The postponed cities and dates on the tour are Minneapolis (May 26), Salt Lake City (May 29), Vancouver (May 31), Seattle (June 1), and Portland (June 3).

Although the singer’s devoted fanbase will be disappointed at the news, Adele plans to reschedule all postponed tour dates, and all previous tickets will be honored.

On her own website, the singer blogged a heartfelt message to her fans:

I’ve been told to cancel tonight’s show in Minneapolis because my voice has gone. I hate to cancel especially at such short notice. I am truly devastated… Please forgive me! We have rescheduled for June 22nd, and all tickets will be honoured. I hope to see you all then!

The singer’s determination to get better and intimacy while addressing concertgoers should keep her fans worrying at bay while she recovers before returning to the stage.

Adele is most known for her hit singles Chasing Pavements and Rolling in the Deep and is currently on tour after the chart smashing success of her sophomore album 21.
