This is it! The American Idol 2012 season 11 finale is upon us and so, of course, many fans who like to know as much as possible before the big event airs live will appreciate some of the secrets that have been spilled.
Not only that but is it Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe who sent out the spoilers by way of Twitter. This man-in-the-know knows that when Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez hit the Nokia Theater on May 22, these two eager talents will be singing three separate songs.
The final 2 from AI season 11 will give their all with their favorite song each sang during the run of the show, as well as a song chosen by producer Simon Fuller and a song that Phil and Jessica wants to be his or her first single.
Probably the most difficult song that each will sing come the American Idol finale is what Mister Fuller has chosen for each participant because that’s going to be the tune Jessica and Phillip will likely be least familiar with and, therefore, will need to be honed in short order.
Meanwhile, Jessica Sanchez—who lost the traditional coin toss (see story here)—will sing first but will probably forego her showstopping Dream Girls number called And I’m Not Telling You because she has performed that song a couple of times all ready on AI. She will likely belt something fresher from this year’s many tunes crooned by this tiny girl with the big voice.
That said, the 16-year-old did a wonderful job with nearly every song she has sung during the course of the show, but favorites include Try A Little Tenderness, Stuttering and Proud Mary. Any of these three would probably elicit a standing ovation and rousing applause for Sanchez.
Meanwhile, Phillip Phillips made his own musical statements with so many songs in so many ways, garnering quite the fan base who appreciates this artist as an original. Popular American Idol offerings delivered this season by this Georgia boy—a guy who many fans think is absolutely gorgeous when he’s on stage performing—include the Billy Joel tune Movin’ Out, Beggin’, and Have You Seen the Rain?
With that said, what songs do you think will help Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips win American Idol 2012 for season 11? What would you like to hear these two top singers croon on the finale for this year? Who do you think will ultimately leave the big AI stage with the win on Thursday? Thoughts? Thanks.
