A week after being saved on American Idol, Jessica Sánchez had to show that she was worthy of the risk. Singing “Fallin’” by Alicia Keys, she was definitely back on point vocally and working the stage a bit. R&B is what she needs to be doing with her voice, not early nineties ballads. The judges said she felt the song more and they believed her. This is big for her because she almost looks too trained at times.
Jessica’s second performance was Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness,” which was not her best performance. The downside to big voices and experimentation is getting shouty, which she definitely did. However, she needs to find that line and is commended by the judges for giving her all. However, no critique tonight. They still think she is the best voice on American Idol. However, save contestants have never even made the finale, so she has an uphill climb.
