‘American Idol': Jessica Sanchez Sings “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” And Returns Home

Jessica S├ínchez had another week of ballads on American Idol. Only one was her choice though, and it was the best choice of the night. Her judge was Jennifer Lopez, who chose “My All” by Mariah Carey. She praised her for a job well done on a hard song, but why choose a hard song for your contestant? No moment here. Jessica’s choice for herself was “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” by Aerosmith, which earned praise from Steven Tyler and a declaration that she should win. Is he trying to jinx her? Jennifer did say that he is normally tough on those that attempt his songs though. Jimmy Iovine’s choice for Jessica was “I’ll Be There” by the Jackson 5. Wrong generation and still not young enough. Think young female songs instead, Jimmy. That would have served her better.

Jessica’s homecoming brought her back to her audition site, the USS Midway, where she was honored before meeting up with her family . Her little brothers missed her a lot, and she honored her dad with “Dance With the Father” at her concert in Chula Vista, California. She went to a local high school for an event despite being homeschooled. She also met local radio and talked about getting numbers from boys. Hopefully, she gets another homecoming as American Idol in two weeks.
