‘American Idol’: Jessica Sanchez Tries to Become Tina Turner and Sings ‘You Are So Beautiful’

Jessica S├ínchez has spent much of American Idol with the upper hand, save week notwithstanding. However, now she is getting stiff at the wrong time. Her rendition of “Proud Mary” by Ike and Tina Turner proved that ballads are more her thing. She was dressed like Tina and tried to move like Tina, but ultimately, choreography is beyond her right now. Also, she still needs age appropriate songs, so a theme such as the sixties did her no favors.

Her version of Joe Cocker’s song “You Are So Beautiful” was the best of the night for the girls though. Steven Tyler is still gushing over her insanely. However, despite this being better, Jessica still looked still on stage like she has gotten into the vocals more, but still is not feeling the song. The mentors need to acknowledge that she is sixteen and help her find songs she can sell on American Idol. She has the voice to overcome the save, but not without smart choices.
