As an actress with a booming career, it’s no surprise that Amy Adams has felt the need to keep up with the typical Hollywood body image, making keeping fit and thin a top priority in the past. As a new mother to seven-month-old Aviana Olea, though, her priorities have been rearranged.

“Being pregnant finally helped me understand what my true relationship was with my body — meaning that it wasnÂ’t put on this earth to look good in a swimsuit,” Adams said in an interview for Sunday’s issue of Parade. And while she recognizes that – unlike a lot of women who aren’t in the public eye –  part of her career depends upon her keeping up her appearance, she went on to say that, “IÂ’ve been working out when I can Â… but losing weight is not my number one priority. I donÂ’t feel IÂ’ve ever made my career on my rockinÂ’ bod.”

It is so refreshing to see a celebrity today setting realistic goals for both herself and the other new mothers who look up to her. Finally a celebrity mom who isn’t rail thin three weeks post-delivery!
