Former SNL star Amy Poehler will have her very own sitcom on NBC called "Parks and Recreation". Network execs say the show is a "mockumentary" – which basically means it will be written and shot just like "The Office"… also on NBC.
Amy Poehler's "Parks and Recreation" character is described as a big dreamer in a small-town local government. Rashida Jones, who played Karen on "The Office", will costar in the show.
There has been consistent, if not exactly fervent, speculation on what the show's title would be, with numerous outlets calling it "The Untitled Amy Poehler Show" or "The Amy Poehler Office Spinoff." The show is produced by the same folks who produce "The Office".
The new Amy Poehler show, Parks and Recreation, premieres on April 9th.
