Amy Winehouse’s father, Mitch is making certain that his daughter’s death is not in vain. The foundation bearing the late singer’s name has reportedly donated £10,000 to a children’s hospice center in Essex.

In a statement from Amy’s father, the Little Havens Hospice and their work moved him. Mitch had just learned of the Hospice’s mission only days before Amy’s passing.

Amy would be pleased because she loved children and I know she’s fully behind us in all the work we are doing. The staff, the kids and their parents, plus parents who had just lost their children, were all concerned about us and were comforting us. So we’re very grateful to them.

Talk about trying to bring about something positive from a very sad situation. The Amy Winehouse foundation was established on what would have been the singer’s 28th birthday.

Now it is involved in helping children and young adults. This is work that Amy Winehouse would most likely have been very proud to have her name attached too. Too bad she is not here to see the good work.
