The Anne Hathaway wedding featured a bride that was swathed in a diamond-patterned Valentino wedding gown. And radiant can’t begin to describe her on her wedding day to Adam Shulman on Big Sur this weekend.
People reports the wedding dress designer bar none was more than happy to accommodate the request of a celebrity he has already adorned many times in breathtaking numbers, “I am so happy for Anne. And I would do my best creation for her,” Valentino Garavani said earlier this month.
The bride’s dress kept to the larger-than-life fantasy world that the actress is famous for in her many acting roles, including the Princess Diaries. The Valentino creation had mountains of material, including a long veil, which wrapped extensively around the bride’s head, regally providing her with a train to match that of her gown.
Yet it was Adam that captivated her attention, just as she had told People last year, when she said “I’m very much in love with him.” And after four years of romance and an engagement of 10 months, they finally said “I do.”
Anne might have been smitten with her new husband, but it will be her dress, which looked like something out of a fairy tale, and appeared to be a mixture of tulle, lace and possibly silk, that will captivate her female fans when they talk of the Anne Hathaway wedding. And it was adorned in all the sparkly stuff that young girls dream of—and yes, the bride wore white.
The off the shoulder vintage wedding dress was the perfect choice for the tall beauty who said her Les Miserable work made it impossible to even think about anything wedding-related this year according to the Daily Mail.
Boy, did she fool them.
Hathaway, 29, and Shulman, 31, surprised everyone with their impromptu wedding, and that’s likely a deliberate act, since the Dark Knight Rises star gave every indication to reporters she just didn’t have time to plan a wedding in 2012, not with two films coming out this year.
Natalie Portman helped her do it, sharing a wedding planner that also took credit for her own Big Sur wedding, which, like Anne’s, was a splendid Jewish celebration.
People.com said 100 guests were in attendance for the weekend nuptials, which began with a rehearsal dinner Friday night at the Ventana Inn and Spa. And the décor is said to have included lots of branches and outdoor scenery.
