Arrow season 1 continues next week with episode 3, “Lone Gunmen,” which will be introducing a well-known villain to the show and to Oliver Queen. Will his plan work?

“DC COMICS’ VILLIAN DEADSHOT SETS HIS SIGHTS ON ARROW — Oliver (Stephen Amell) is surprised when someone shoots and kills one of his targets. As his plan is to bring people to justice vs. outright killing them, Oliver doesn’t appreciate the help and searches for the gunman. He soon learns that the man, Deadshot (guest star Michael Rowe), is taking out businessmen who are scheduled to bid at an auction on an energy company and Walter (Colin Salmon) is one of the bidders. Realizing he can’t protect his family and stop Deadshot at the same time, Oliver enlists Detective Lance’s (Paul Blackthorne) help, but his plan has dire consequences. Meanwhile, Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Tommy (Colin Donnell) get caught in an awkward situation with Oliver.”

Could Oliver’s plan lead to some serious trouble? There are going to be “dire consequences” but what exactly is going to happen? When you’re facing someone like Deadshot, there’s only so much you can do, but will Oliver regret getting Lance to help out? (That answer seems to be a very likely yes.)

The Arrow season 1 episode 3 promo for “Lone Gunmen” (below) gives a good look at Deadshot. Not only does he easily take out his target despite the distance (of course), he also attracts the attention of both Detective Lance and Oliver. But will it be too much for Oliver to balance the playboy and Arrow? This episode will show Oliver doing some fighting; will that be to protect his family if they end up very much in the crossfire? With Oliver becoming the target, they’ll be in trouble as well. Whatever happens, it’s the end of the preview that’s most intriguing because it’s Arrow versus Deadshot and that’s something you have to have been looking forward to. Who will win that night? What will happen between Oliver and Detective Lance? Will Lance once again come close to Arrow only for Arrow to once again get away?
