Art Therapy: Happiness Album – Scrapbooking

Filed in Uncategorized by on April 17, 2008 0 Comments

I took an Art Therapy class in 2007-2008 and had to create a portfolio of projects with 3 different art media and at least 2 projects per media.  I am posting them here on Gather as a resource for other people in this field, or to share with those who love art and crafting and want some fun projects.  Enjoy!

Happiness Album – Scrapbooking

Art Media: photographs

Patient Population: mental health

Various scrapbooking supplies

Small photo album

Patient will need to collect several of his/her favorite photos. Encourage them to include pictures that include other important people/animals/places in them as well. Instruct patient to fill the pages with things that make them happy to use when they need a lift or are sad or anxious. The album should be large enough to hold enough content but small enough to allow easy carrying. I recommend a 7×7 inch album.

Have patient sign and consider naming the piece, talk to them about the experience and how it makes them feel, what they liked or did not like . . .
