Assault – Poetry by Terry Gibson

The greater damage

is not so much the

crunching of bones

or terror-filled nights.

It’s the soul’s innate

need to recoil

a caterpillar poked

with a stick,

Trembling, immobile.

Terry Gibson, 2012.
