The Atlanta Braves acquired one of the best 2nd baseman in the National League, or for that matter in all of baseball.
No offense Omar Infante, but this move was a steal for Atlanta.
According to Bowman’s Blog (MLB) The Braves have landed All-Star second baseman Dan Uggla from the Marlins in exchange for Omar Infante and left-handed reliever Mike Dunn.
Uggla could provide the shot in the arm that the Braves need to take them over the hump and make the World Series next season. Yes, he’s that good! Uggla, who is only 30 years old, has 154 home runs in five seasons with Florida. He’s been selected to three All-Star games and he just won his first career Silver Slugger award this season. He will definitely bring a steady glove, and lots of pop in his bat to Atlanta. Once again, a steal for the Braves!
Adding Uggla to an already very good Braves line-up is going to keep Atlanta in the N.L. race all season.
