The NCAA features a compelling game in women’s college basketball between Baylor and Tennessee. Both of these teams have a history of winning, and it will surely be a great game for fans of basketball.
Women’s basketball never gets enough praise as it deserves. Many think the games are not as exciting as the men’s game, but there is so much talent and athleticism that is encompassed in the women’s game.
Tennessee comes into this game with an overall record of 27-8 and are 12-4 in the SEC. They are the second seed in their division and are coached by one of the best women’s basketball coaches of all time in Pat Summitt.
There has been a lot of focus of Summitt’s diagnosis of early onset of dementia, and it is courageous to see her battle, not only the disease, but on the court as well. She displays the heart and courage every coach should have, and sets an excellent example for her players. She wills them to victory time and time again with her motivation and passion for the game. It is truly a site to see and something every college coach should try to emulate.
For Baylor, they come into this game with a staggering record of 37-0 and are 18-0 in the Big 12. They are highly favored in this match up and are coming off an impressive victory over Georgia Tech with a final score of 83-68.
There has been a lot of spotlight on Baylor star Brittney Griner. She is a specimen on the court and has dunked the ball on many occasions during the tournament. This has given her team the energy in all aspects of the game, which has led them to an unbeaten season thus far. Griner scored an impressive 35 points against Georgia Tech, and it will be interesting to see if she can put up the same kind of numbers against Tennessee.
This game is going to be an exciting affair and college fans should stay tuned to see what goes down in the Wells Fargo Arena tonight (March 26, 2012).
