BCS Standings Week 12: Kansas State the New No. 1?

The Week 12 BCS standings could really reward Kansas State for a great season. By beating TCU on Saturday, Kansas State moved to 10-0 on the season and anchored their position as first place in the Big 12 standings. Adding in the Alabama loss to Texas A&M and the Wildcats have a great chance to take over the BCS.

Back in Week 11, Kansas State was ranked No. 2 after a nice boost by the computer polls. Oregon was ranked ahead of them in both the USA Today and AP Top 25. As previously reported on Gather, Oregon also just got a bump to the No. 1 spot in the Week 12 college football rankings. Now the computers will decide which school gets a boost in the BCS.

It stands to reason that Kansas State is going to get a bigger boost from the computers than Oregon, especially after Oregon beat an unimpressive California team in Week 11. Notre Dame also has the opportunity to move up a bit, especially after improving to 10-0 on the season as well. Where Alabama drops to in the Week 12 BCS standings will become very interesting as fans debate whether the eventual SEC champion deserves a slot in the national title game.

Every school will find out where things stand later on Sunday (November 11), when the latest BCS rankings get released by the league. Which team do you think deserves to get ranked No. 1 in the BCS?
