In early BET Awards 2011 winners, Jaden and Willow Smith tied to win the Young Stars Award. The duo accepted the awards together on stage and even gave a shout out to a proud set of parents in the audience.

The BET Awards winners so far have included the two young stars, born to Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith. Willow was nominated due to her “Whip My Hair” song, while Jaden was nominated for his acting talents shown off in the reboot/remake of “The Karate Kid.”

When the winners were announced, Jaden and Willow stood up in the crowd surprised by the announcement. They hugged one another and then rushed up on stage in excitement. Willow made sure to thank mom and dad for letting them push harder. It was truly a proud moment for the Smith family.

However, one has to wonder if BET simply orchestrated this award to be a tie for the sake of generating buzz. They could have easily solved the tie dilemma and given the award to up-and-coming young rap star Diggy Simmons, son of Run of Run DMC. Nonetheless, Jaden and Willow Smith have showed they have early star power, thanks to mom and dad. The question is will they continue to enjoy success? If their parents are any indication, expect more successful ventures to follow in their futures!
