The first BET Hip-Hop Awards 2012 cypher to be featured on the annual installment of the genre’s music awards show featured rappers B.o.B, T.I., and the Grand Hustle crew. That came after a Wiz Khalifa performance and some jokes thrown in the direction of singer Chris Brown by the awards host, Mike Epps.
A report from MTV.com includes the black-and-white video footage of the cypher showing DJ Premier handling the turntable as rappers Trae Tha Truth, T.I., and B.o.B were among those featured in the cypher session. Also included are foreign rapper Iggy Azalea and Chipmunk, as each takes turns delivering lines over the beat. Fans will likely enjoy the cypher as it really heats up when B.o.B and T.I. take over towards the end delivering their rapid fire lines in their trademark styles.
The hip-hop cyphers have become one of the biggest parts of the BET Hip-Hop Awards show each year now. There’s been major news made from past editions of these sessions including Royce da 5’9 in his Slaughterhouse cypher shootout to Rihanna a year or so ago, and the talk of Justin Bieber almost being included in a cypher. It’s likely that there might be more hot lines coming out of tonight’s show from a variety of top rappers as the remaining hip-hop cyphers are shown on BET’s latest awards show.
