BIFF BURGER’S FRIDAY NIGHT OLD CARS & HOT RODS SHOW
In St. Petersburg-Florida, each & every Friday night there is a an event that just warms the cockles of my heart. The last remaining & operating Biff Burger Restaurant in the USA hosts an old car & hot rod show. Folks show up with their old cars, have some fun, see what’s new & generally re-live their youth. I was there this past Friday night, as I try to be at least once a month, to meet & greet old buddies, meet new folks & enjoy seeing these cars from my past. Antique car clubs, members from many of those from all over the country show up to enjoy this “blast from the past” and to enjoy the memories of their youth. This past week there were some folks from the ‘Antique car Club of Brooklynn’ that had some great old cars from the 1950’s & 1960’s to exhibit.
As one browses among the old cars & hot rods the music that carries the mood along is that of such artists a Buddy Holley, Connie Francis, Elvis Presley, Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Bobby Darin & so many more. If you ever visit the St. Petersburg-Tampa Bay area make it a point to drop by the last remaining operating Biff Burger, a chain that precedes McDonald’s by a decade or so, and enjoy the car show. If you are a motorcycle enthusiast then drop by Biff’s on Wednesday evenings & Saturday evenings for the ‘Biff Burger Motorcycle Show’ held on site each & every Wed. & Sat. night.
