Black Eyed Peas Halftime Show Sparks Twitter Ire

The Black Eyed Peas halftime show has sparked Twitter ire in fans already seething from Christina Aguilera’s National Anthem Super Bowl debacle. Was Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction not enough to keep the top spot among performance flubs?

Twitter has become the barometer for the entertainment, sporting and celebrity gossip daily trends. In other words, nothing gets by the “Twitterverse” without a thorough tongue-lashing, if one is not standing tall and looking good.

The Black Eyed Peas halftime show was one such example of an act with all the pomp and circumstance gone badly–really badly.

Will.i.am led his chart-topping group with some of their top hits, but the fire failed to ignite. In fact, the only thing close to fire was the confetti that rained down during the group’s dismal performances of their hits.

When the Black Eyed Peas halftime show failed to set the roof on fiya, tweets begin to stream in dismay. It was a global assault on the talented group that was more like The Little Engine that Could…Not.

Here are some of the tweets that streamed on Twitter after the epic fail:

After the #BlackEyedPeas’ halftime show performance, all 4 members have been arrested and charged with Cruel & Unusual punishment #sb45

I got a feelin’ that tonight will be the #blackeyedpeas last big live performance for a while. The fat tron dancers didn’t help #halftime

Fergie, please don’t ever sing live again. I had to check on my dog to make sure his tail wasn’t caught in the door. #blackeyedpeas #sb45
