The Black Friday 2012 Deals Week has officially launched for the Amazon website, and will last through the 24th. On Monday, the web retailer started its week-long sales event offering discounted prices on TV’s, laptops, video games, digital cameras and more. The company is hoping for a major sales boost once again as customers look for an easier and safer way to shop discounted prices for the holiday season.
With Amazon’s Black Friday deals for the week now starting up, shoppers will look to take advantage of convenient shopping from home, rather than battling crowds, and using up gasoline to drive from store to store. In years past this was the common way of getting those rock bottom prices, but now the internet, low-cost shipping, and convenience have helped avoid all that. Starting on the 19th, Amazon will offer deals for the entire week, but will also have time-sensitive deals on a daily and hourly basis. These include Gold Box deals and Lightning Deals, something the web retailer has been famous for over the years.
Today’s Gold Box deal of the day offers customers up to 50% off the Panasonic LUMIX G-Series digital cameras. The site is offering four different models with varying features priced from $279.99 through $529.99. The low end model is a 12 megapixel camera, with a 16.05 megapixel version also offered. The site is also offering other camera deals, so consumers will be wise to browse the listings and find a good deal based on their needs.
There are several big ticket items that Amazon continues to offer at discounts as well. Many customers are in the hunt for a new television set or laptop computer, possibly upgrading a current model, or buying one for a family member, friend, or other person on their shopping list. For Black Friday Deals Week, there are LED HDTV’s lower than $500, with big screen HDTV’s under $1,000. Amazon is offering a Sceptre 32-inch model 720p HDTV for just $209.88, which gives a great option for dorm rooms, dens, or guest rooms.
Additionally, Amazon is offering laptops at discounts. These include up to 25% off selec Intel-powered PC’s. The prices on these range from under $500 for a basic laptop to as much as $1,800 for an Alienware gaming laptop. Amazn also has an ASUS 15.6-inch model for just $359.99 with Windows 7 included, and a Dell model for just $399.99, which are current bestsellers in Intel-powered laptops.
It seems there will be plenty of options for customers online this holiday season. With a full deals week ahead, will Amazon be able to entice shoppers enough with their prices to get them to avoid long lines, battling crowds, and trying to find those perfect gifts in stores? The site allows customers to sign up for alerts on the latest deals, hoping to keep them warm and safe while shopping from their home or office computers.
Have you seen Amazon’s Black Friday Deals week, and if so, what do you think of their deals so far?
