The popular “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ with its zombies and multiplayer online features has taken out “Halo 4″ for the top spot on Xbox Live’s activity charts. The latest chart shows the top 20 with many other popular sports, action, and roleplaying games ranking on the list as well. Some may even come as a surprise.
According to Game Informer, the activity chart through November 19 shows the new “Call of Duty” at the #1 spot followed by “Halo.” Rounding out their top five is “Minecraft,” “Modern Warfare 3,” and “FIFA Soccer 13.” Other games on the list include “Assassin’s Creed III” at #7, “NBA 2K13″ at #8, “Madden NFL 13″ at #10, and “GTA IV” at #14. The GTA game was released back in April of 2008, showing some great power in terms of being able to remain on the charts. It could be all those fans of the series getting ready for the next installment by refreshing their memories on the most current title.
As for the “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ vs. “Halo 4″ battle, the game COD game was released on November 12th, while “Halo” came out about a week before that. When it comes down to video game sales, Microsoft can take some comfort in knowing that the fourth installment of “Halo” sits at #1 on another list: the Amazon Best Sellers in Xbox 360 games and hardware. “Black Ops 2″ will have to settle for #2 there, followed by “Madden 13″ and “Assassin’s Creed 3.”
Of course the big debate is, does “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ deserve the top spot for Xbox Live activity, or does “Halo 4?” Both games offer fun “shoot em up” online environments with various features and achievements to unlock. However, there are probably plenty of video game fans who believe the new COD title needs to work on improving the online features just a bit in order to get their vote for top online game on the platform. And of course, both games are enjoying their time at the top towards the new year, but will the next GTA be king in 2013?
