A recent “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ was discovered which helps players get those Prestige emblems and achievements easier. However, it comes at a cost as Treyarch has recently made several warnings on Twitter to gamers choosing to cheat their way to a higher level.

Product DetailsAccording to a report from Game Ranx website, the new glitch going around allows players to quickly get up to level 55 on the new COD game. All that’s required is watching a CoD TV video to “instantly be at Prestige 10.” With that in mind, plenty of those who want to cheat their way to a higher achievement level are making use of the glitch to do so.

However, it’s been announced by Treyarch on their Twitter, that they’re aware of those who are abusing the glitch to level up. They noted that they’ve “noticed a few ‘level 10′ guys running the party for everyone,” but that they’ll be providing a “solution (and demotions)” soon. Due to that Edited Film and Emblems were made unavailable for a short time.

Treyarch even went so far as to say:

“Any user who runs a modified version of game code or uses a modified game profile is subject to penalty.”

That could mean a permanent ban online which includes having stats and emblems erased, as well as being blocked permanently from leaderboards. It won’t matter whether it’s a seasoned gamer or first-time offender, meaning this is a serious offense for any who partake in the cheat.

So when it comes down to it, the old adage of “cheaters never win” certainly applies here. Exploiting a glitch just to achieve Prestige carries some serious penalties making it really seem unworthy of all the effort. Besides, when it comes down to it, isn’t it more fun earning achievements through hard work and true effort in the game, rather than cheating? Kudos to Treyarch for stepping up to the plate to do something about the glitch and those exploiting it!
