This weekend the Blue Angels had their airshow on Pensacola Beach. Since Pensacola is home to the Blue Angels, we are fortunate enough to have two shows each year – one in the summer and one in November.
This year we decided to avoid the crowds and just go to the practice show on Friday. I am so glad we did! A terrible thunderstorm rolled in on Saturday, so the show was cancelled and the beach was a mess. At least three people were struck by lightening! We're fortunate enough to know several people who live out there, but many people were stuck without any kind of shelter.
The show on Friday was great! The weather was a little warm, but we stayed in the condo until a few minutes before the Blue Angels flew. We then grabbed an umbrella and some chairs and headed across the street to the beach.
Little Miss got scared a few times, but I did a pretty good job of keeping her ears covered. After the show, she fell asleep right on Daddy's chest! We sat out on the beach until she woke up, then headed over to the pool to cool off.
It was a long day, but so much fun! If you ever get a chance to see the blue Angels, go for it!
