Bones returns to FOX with new episodes on September 17, and Brennan is still going to be on the run. The team will be working to bring her home, and the latest preview out may hold the key to that.

Even Brennan is finding ways to possibly clear her own name; will what she sends the team be what they need to do so?

The new Bones season 8 episode 1 promo for the premiere (below) is set to Sad Robot’s “Hold On,” and that’s exactly what the Jeffersonian team and Booth have to do as they try to get Brennan back where she belongs after she’s been missing for three months. They all miss her, but they may be able to get her home soon. The new preview offers a look at blonde Brennan with Christine, more of Flynn’s search (and a demand to have her brought in), Brennan sending them clues and hope, and more of the Booth and Brennan reunion.

While the previous promo has already shown Booth and Brennan’s initial reunion, this one shows more. She tells him, “I knew you’d come. …Because you love me.” Oh, that’s sweet, but they need to get her home and they have a lot they need to talk about. But first, they need to clear her name, and it looks like Brennan sent them what they need to do that, as Angela says, “Brennan wants us to know that solving this murder will clear her name.” Will that be the case? Finally, the preview ends with Booth across from someone in an interrogation room. Is that Pelant?
