On Bones, there’s that one couple that some fans want to get together and others do not. Since the beginning, it’s been teased, there’s been chemistry, and both have (at separate times) admitted they want it. It’s almost reminiscent of Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson).
TVLine talked to Bones creator Hart Hanson about the Booth (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) relationship, and according to him, they’re talking about what’s going to happen between the two as the season comes to an end: “What happens [as we wrap] between Booth and Brennan is the subject of a spirited and wide-ranging debate…Some people think [we should go for it], and others are wildly against it. It’s a really interesting debate.”
This season of Bones introduced a new love interest for Booth—Hannah (Katheryn Winnick)—and things are serious between the two. Parker (Ty Panitz) likes her, they live together, and really, she’s not all that bad. Her main character flaw is that she’s getting in the way of Booth and Brennan finally getting together. Unfortunately for Hannah, it seems like just a matter of time before she’s off the series.
There have been a number of spoilers out there lately about moments between the two to come. According to Hanson, in an upcoming episode, they will be “trapped in an elevator together. It’s one of those things where they’re forced together and they have to figure some things out. It’s a pivotal moment.” Stephen Nathan, executive producer on the show, describes it as “a great episode for the people who want to see Booth and Brennan to be in love.”
Bones’ Valentine’s Day will see the two spending the holiday together. The episode, which will air February 17th, will show “both [finding] themselves alone, both hating Valentine’s Day, and somehow [winding] up doing something which is very unique to Booth and Brennan.”
Both of these episodes sound like just what the two need to get on the right track to finally being in a relationship.
If you’re wondering about those proposals that have been teased for some time now (and what they have to do with Booth and Brennan), apparently the February 10th episode is the one to watch. But Nathan hasn’t revealed if both proposals will be in that episode and has only teased, “that one is chalked full of goodies.”
Do you think Brennan and Booth should finally take the plunge before seasonÂ’s end on Bones?
