Heading Into Madison Square Garden

The NBA features a great game tonight between the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks. Both of these teams are looking to go up in their respective divisions heading into the playoffs.

At a Glance

The Celtics are coming into this game off a win over the Bobcats with a final score of 94-82. They are currently 36-25 and are 3rd in points per game. In their win, Rondo had over 20 points with 16 assists. They will need more of the same against New York tonight if they want to prevail. They are currently 2-1 against New York this season, and they will be looking to add another win under their belt as they head into the month of May.

Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen

For the Knicks, they are coming into this game off a loss to the Miami Heat with a final score of 93-85. In their loss, Carmelo Anthony had an incredible 42 points with 9 rebounds. Anthony went on to say they simply couldn’t make shots. J.R. Smith helped out with 16 points, but they didn’t have enough firepower to keep up with the deeper team in the Miami Heat. Stoudemire is still out with an injury and so is Jeremy Lin. Sources say that Stoudemire might be able to start maybe Friday, which can only help their offensive production. They will need other players to step it up if they want to clinch the first seed in the Atlantic division.

Keys to Victory

For Boston, they just need to keep doing what they have been doing and that is production from Rondo, Garnett, and Pierce. They have looked great this season, despite their aged team. Their defense is top notch and they will look to utilize this against New York tonight.

For New York, they need other players besides Anthony to step it up. Anthony is averaging 22.2 points per game, but they will need more assistance from J.R. Smith and Tyson Chandler. They will also need to execute on the perimeter, something that they didn’t do against Miami in their last game.
