Brandon Fisher, whose company helped to rescue the 33 Chilean miners, was among Michelle ObamaÂ’s guests during the State of the Union Address. Brandon is the founder File:Michelle Obama official portrait.jpgand president of Center Rock, Inc. FisherÂ’s company had supplied drill bits and its LP-Drill technology to help rescue the Chilean miners. His wife, Julie, was also present at the event.

There were only 26 guests for the State of the Union Address, so it was a truly unique honor to have been chosen. A reception was attended by all guests and then Brandon and Julie sat next to Michelle Obama and Vice President Joe Biden during the address.

Speaking about event, Fisher said, “It is an honor to be invited by President Obama and the First Lady to attend the State of the Union address and to be recognized for Center Rock’s contribution of our drilling expertise and innovative mine rescue technology to a true humanitarian effort that saved all 33 Chilean miners. We are very proud of our entire Center Rock team and share this honor with them.”

Brandon Fisher truly deserved the invitation. He and his company were able to supply knowledge at a critical time when lives could have been lost. Fortunately, thanks in part to him and several others who were doing the back-breaking hands on work, the Chilean miners lived through their horrific ordeal.
