Breaking Dawn Part 2 reached a milestone already since opening in theaters nationwide on Friday. It made its way on to the all-time box office top 10 opening day list.
According to a report from MTV, the last film in The Twilight Saga saw the sixth biggest opening day in history on Friday, November 16th.
Some outlets are predicting that the film will rake in $150 million or more by the end of the weekend. The Los Angeles Times agrees with that number but Entertainment Weekly is taking a more conservative shot at predicting it will hit the $135 million mark instead. Even Twilight’s own production company–Summit Entertainment–stuck with the conservative figures. Which do you think is the more realistic number?
Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiered in Europe this week, too, and saw impressive figures at overseas box offices. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner traveled to London, Madrid and Berlin for red carpet premieres in those cities.
Do you think because this is the last film in The Twilight Saga that overall this second half of Breaking Dawn will surpass all the other films in the series? Might Twihards come out in droves–maybe even twice–to get their last glimpses of Edward Cullen, Bella Swan and Jacob Black on the big screen?
