The burned body of Brittany Crenshaw was found yesterday around Hattiesburg, Miss., but was so badly charred that it couldn’t be identified at the time. Today it has been confirmed that the body is in fact the missing 19-year-old woman. This isn’t the only update in the tragic case; her fiance reportedly failed both of the two polygraph tests he was administered. It would be interesting to hear which questions he was asked and the answers he gave, but it’s more than evident that he’s been charged with murder for damn good reason.
It’s a shame that the search continued for this missing woman even after her remains were found, all because of the slow pace in positively identifying her remains. Nonetheless, those around her showed strength and faith as they persevered against the possibility of this ending in a horrific manner. It’s unfortunate that this young, beautiful life has been taken — leaving behind a young child who is now going to grow up without a mother. Benjamin Davis really put himself in the position of never seeing the light of day again, and hopefully the death penalty is on the table with these charges.
Curiously, a woman was questioned yesterday in connection to this slaying, but her name has not been released and she is not yet facing charges. Is it possible that Benjamin had help in either killing or disposing of Brittany Crenshaw? If so, this case could shape up to be one helluva trial, and it may be a high profile story until the very end. One could hope that justice will be served for the friends and family of this young woman.
