CBS will be premiering a new comedy soon, Mad Love. The series stars Jason Biggs, Sarah Chalke, Judy Greer, and Tyler Labine. Starting February 21st, it will be airing on Mondays after How I Met Your Mother at 8:30PM. This alone should help bring in some viewers to get the series started. HIMYM has plenty of fans and some people may be looking for something to watch for half an hour before a 9PM series (rather than tune in to 8PM dramas such as Chuck, House, and 90210 thirty minutes late).
Brittany Snow of Harry’s Law to guest star
Snow, who is currently starring on the NBC legal comedy drama, HarryÂ’s Law, has another role coming up. According to TVGuide, she will be in an episode of Mad Love. SheÂ’ll be playing ChalkeÂ’s characterÂ’s sister.
According to Snow, “It’s an interesting episode because it’s really funny about how overprotective Sarah Chalke’s character is towards her little sister. My character wants to break out and just go crazy. There’s definitely a side of my character that she shows to her sister, and then there’s a side that she’s actually doing.” This definitely sounds like just the sort of character that will be perfect for a half-hour comedy series.
Brittany Snow has also shown that she can do the comedy role, though her fans may know her best from the drama American Dreams. Her character on HarryÂ’s Law certainly was responsible for some of the comedic moments in the seriesÂ’ pilot episode. ItÂ’s almost impossible to not be comedic when youÂ’re running a shoe store in the same place as your boss is running her legal business!
Can Mad Love last?
But will Mad Love have the staying power it needs? It does have the benefit of How I Met Your Mother as a lead-in and Two and a Half Men occupies the time slot following it at 9PM. Despite (or maybe because of) the happenings in Charlie SheenÂ’s life off-screen, his comedy is still bringing in viewers each week.
The show also has a pretty impressive cast. Jason Biggs has been in a number of successful movies (just think of the American Pie films). Sarah Chalke excelled in her role on Scrubs (and even had a role on How I Met Your Mother for a while). Judy Greer, as described by Natalie Abrams, has played the role of “rom-com best friend” before a number of times (and successfully).
