BROOKLYN DECKER TELLS TODAY SHE WEPT WHEN SHE SAW HER PICTURE ON THE COVER OF SPORTS ILLUSTRATED SWIMSUIT ISSUE (VIDEO)

Model Brooklyn Decker is no stranger to having pictures taken of her with her clothes practically falling off. Oh, sorry, right, it’s a bathing suit and, well, it’s falling off her. Nonetheless, the Sports Illustrated 2010 Swimsuit Issue cover girl told the TODAY show Wednesday morning that she “burst into tears when she saw herself on the magazine’s front cover.

She should be used to this attention–after all, she’s been in the swimsuit issue for the past five years and is only in her early 20s so, with the natural gifts she was given and a little exercise, she could be doing this for another 20 years. Recently married to tennis superstar Andy Roddick, Decker told TODAY that she went into a fit of hysterics when she saw herself on the cover. A dream come true, she said. I’m sure it is.

Roddick got into the act by tweeting that he was a “proud husband.” The golden couple will certainly have many other exciting events to celebrate but this is definitely a highlight in the young model’s career.

Is the idea of the Swimsuit issue a little old=fashioned? Do scantily-clad bathing beauties have any place in a serious sports magazine? Or is this exactly what the sports doctor ordered?
