Bruce Springsteen opened up the 2012 Grammys Sunday night, with many exciting Grammy performances yet to come.

“The Boss” and his E Street Band opened the show with his trademark patriotic lyrics, asking, “America, are you alive out there?” It was a great way to start off the show, with Lady Gaga and Brit Sir Paul McCartney and new wife Nancy Shevell all rocking out to the performance. Also noteworthy is how young and vibrant Springsteen looked for all of his 62 years!

Afterwards, LL Cool J, the host of this year’s Grammys, came on stage to give a prayer for Whitney Houston after her untimely death Saturday, before welcoming everyone to the 54th annual Grammy awards.

There are still many Grammy performances to come, including Adele, who is up for Album of the Year amongst many others, and The Beach Boys and Foo Fighters.

Which Grammy performance are you most looking forward to? One of the compilation performances, maybe, or perhaps the Whitney Houston tribute?
