Debra Cagan, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Coalition Affairs — a Defense Department position reporting directly to Defense Secretary Robert Gates — shocked British Members of Parliament in a September London meeting whose purpose was to discuss the Bush Administration stance on Iran and Iraq by announcing that she hates all Iranians.
According to the accounts of three witnesses present at the September 11 meeting who confirmed the story to London's Daily Mail, Cagan made it clear that although the US had no plans to attack Iran, it did not rule out doing so if the Iranians ignored warnings not to develop a nuclear bomb.
Cagan continued, and in a direct quote, said: "In any case, I hate all Iranians."
Ms. Cagan's mission in London is to keep the Iraq coalition together. Britians were stunned by her comments.
