Butterflies greet mornings with silent songs

Pride and hope follow their flights’ trails

 

Butterfly wings carry childrens’ laughter

Nets shake when one catches a glimpse

Diversions forever in constant motion

 

Butterflies swallow colors of the world

They climb ladders to sapphire skies

Above midnight trees, they flit and flock

 

When I close my eyes, they dance across my lids

Butterfly dreams cease in winter frost

 

In bright yellow spring, they wake

with groggy,  honey- hungry bears

 

On sunny summer days, they frolic

 in bountiful flower gardens

 

In flaming fall they return to leaves
