The new “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ zombies will be among the supported features in the new elite service offered free of charge for gamers. Activision will also offer a DLC as part of a discounted Season Pass bundle.
According to the Now Gamer website, other features as part of the “Call of Duty” Elite service include Elite TV, social sharing, social notifications, and Player/Clan HQ. As for the zombies support, it’s been noted that gamers can share leaderboard stats and other zombies stats. While the Elite features are free, a season pass will need to be purchased to get new map packs, with 4,000 Microsoft points the cost for them all, or 1,200 for them each on their own.
The bad news here may be the other statement given by Activision who noted:
“Season Pass and DLC Map Packs may not be available on all gaming platforms. Pricing and release dates may vary by platform.”
This immediately brings up a similar situation in which game company Bethesda has been unable to deliver specific DLC’s for the PS3 version of its “Elder Scrolls Skyrim” video game. Microsoft users of the game have been able to acquire the DLC’s though, leading some to believe that some of this “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2″ DLC may only be made available for the Xbox. It’s unlikely that this would upset Sony PS3 owners of the game enough to boycott a popular title like COD.
The game itself, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2,” with zombies and all, will be available for multiple platforms on November 13, 2012.
