CBS.com/vote reveals Carrie Underwood as repeat winner of Entertainer of the Year award at ACM Awards 2010
The official tally at CBS.com/vote was taken in anticipation of the announcement of the Entertainer of the Year award at the Academy of Country Music – ACM – Awards 2010 show.
Carrie Underwood received the honor, repeating as champion after earning the same recognition last year. She beat out the likes of Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney and the Zac Brown Brand to become the first woman ever to win the award twice in a row.
Underwood has taken the world by storm over the last few years and refuses to let go. While Lady Antebellum was a major winner Sunday night, picking up five awards, including Song of the Year, Underwood proved she remains king of the people, capturing the all-important fan vote again with the Entertainer award.
Underwood’s transformation from shy American Idol contestant to sexy country star is most certainly complete. She remains perhaps the most recognizable face – and body – in country music, and is one of the most accomplished female country artists in recent memory already.
Sunday only further cemented that reputation, as despite the success of several other new and old artists, Underwood proved she remains the top choice of the most important governing body in music – the fans.
