Late night TV host Jimmy Fallon has taken the meaning of the term ‘bad Christmas sweater’ to new heights. He now personifies bad Christmas sweaters. Have you been watching his show?
According to a report from omg!, Fallon has been wearing bad Christmas sweaters, giving them away as gifts and prizes to audience members and even getting his guests and staff members into the mode of wearing them, too.
As a guest star on The Chew this past Tuesday, he sported a very ugly Christmas sweater and took part in that show’s ‘Ugly Holiday Sweater Party.'( Okay, so it looks like the people at The Chew are trying to go all PC on everyone. They’re Christmas sweaters–okay?) And Jimmy Fallon takes the cake when promoting them during this Christmas season.
These ugly Christmas sweaters were all the rage back in the late 1980s and early 1990s and older women still sport them at Christmas time. Some of them are ridiculously ornate, complete with jingle bells, ribbons and glittery gizmos that make them seen from miles away.
So why would Fallon incorporate them into his Late Night With Jimmy Fallon enterprise? Because he can. It’s funny to be tacky, and Fallon’s talent corners the market in that area. Others, however, should take heed. Those Christmas sweaters aren’t funny if you’re under 60 or if you’re Justin Bieber. For some reason the adorable 17-year-old Under the Mistletoe singer sported one in a couple of his recent holiday appearances. Can the Christmas sweater, Justin Bieber. Leave it for Jimmy Fallon instead.
Have you been watching Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and catching the fun he’s been having with his bad Christmas sweaters? Did you see him on The Chew this past Tuesday, wearing one of his very own?
